The Opportunity

Join our dynamic Data Management team as a Product Owner, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping our innovative data management solutions for the fintech sector. We are seeking a talented individual with a strong background in product ownership and a deep understanding of data management practices. If you are eager to collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive product development, and make a significant impact in the fintech space, this role is perfect for you.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

  • Take ownership of the product roadmap for our data management solutions.
  • Translate user requirements into well-defined user stories, actively engaging with engineers to address any missing or unclear IT requirements. Ensure that the work breakdown structure (WBS) is entered or assigned to the engineer/project manager responsible for connecting team members to the WBS.
  • Present user stories to the team during business item refinement sessions, ensuring that the WBS is available and addressing any questions or concerns raised by the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with the team to estimate the effort required for each user story and assign them as appropriate (considering future assignment at the start of the sprint).
  • Participate in project meetings, particularly when work or scope is unclear or significant. For smaller projects, delegate participation to the relevant team members.
  • Define clear acceptance criteria for user stories and collaborate with the development team to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Continuously monitor the progress of development sprints, address any roadblocks, and facilitate effective communication between stakeholders and the development team.
  • Conduct regular user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate product functionality and ensure it meets user requirements.
  • Analyze market trends, industry best practices, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements and innovation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the product, providing guidance and support to internal teams and customers.

Who Are We Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative or technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Solid understanding of data management principles and best practices, including data warehouse, data integration, and data analytics.
  • Understanding of the on-prem technologies: Oracle DWH, Informatica Power Center, QlikSense, SAP BO/BW.
  • Familiarity with fintech products and services, including financial data platforms, risk management solutions, or regulatory compliance systems.
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and experience working in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and analyze user feedback, market research, and industry trends to inform product decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for driving innovation and delivering exceptional user experiences.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
