Platform engineers strike a balance between precision and disruption, between reliability and innovation.

In Nielsen Media, we are the market leader that drives content ratings across virtually all viewing platforms including local and national TV, streaming, digital advertising, and more.

This role is in the Media Data Science Platform team, leverage Kubernetes, Spark, numpy, CUDA, and other technologies to build, productionalize and deliver modeling pipelines into daily and hourly production processes.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Use your knowledge of open source, cloud, and devops technologies to architect new platform products for use across Nielsens product portfolio.

Perform architectural reviews for critical business products to ensure they are properly built for reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.

Understand the data science development pipeline and work to build a system that enables the data science organization to productionalize their work.

Review and refine the fundamental DevOps and SRE practices in platform and help define a standard for use around Nielsen.

Mentor other platform team members to increase their technical and soft skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
8 years of experience in a DevOps role leading critical projects.

Intensive knowledge of most core DevOps concepts and tools spanning source control, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, alerting, and logging.


Required:
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes is a must - AWS k8s a significant plus.

Required:
Proficiency in Linux, with knowledge of networking and DNS.

Bonus:
Experience with Big Data (Spark, Kubernetes) data science toolchain (mlflow, CUDA, numpy scikit learn) is a plus.
