The Role

  • Review requirements, specifications, and other product documentation to assure quality of the products in terms of accessibility of application and ADA compliance.
  • Prepare test strategy and test approach for accessibility testing of web and mobile platform.
  • Define and mentor developers on coding websites with accessibility best practices in mind.
  • Identify appropriate tool to meet the accessibility and ADA compliance goal.
  • Perform on- going accessibility testing and certifying the software release in terms of accessibility and ADA compliance.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining test artifacts, reporting accessibility bugs and push them into SDLC
  • Will be responsible to collaborate with Product management, Development and Architecture team to make sure we provide a consistent quality user experience that is accessible to and inclusive of everyone.
  • Periodically review UI code changes to ensure accessibility best practices are followed.
  • Develop and document internal processes for web design, development, and testing to ensure compliance with Section 508 requirements and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Review Section 508/WCAG compliance defects with developers and discuss possible resolutions.
  • Compile reports concerning failures in Section 508/WCAG compliance and ways to remediate.
  • Partner with PO and UX designer to help them appropriately document and deliver against requirements for Section 508/WCAG compliance.
  • Stay up to date on the latest Section 508/WCAG testing and automated tool information.
  • Provide consultative support across the team for Section 508/WCAG compliance information.

The Requirements

  • BE, BTech or MCA with minimum 4-5 years of experience in accessibility testing field.
  • Strong understanding of Web & Mobile application development and related technologies like REST, Java Script, HTML5, Angular etc.
  • Expertise in Accessibility testing or development of Enterprise Web application and Mobile application
  • 4-5 years working experience in validating web application for WCAG 2.1 Level A, AA and AAA
  • 4-5 years working experience in working with screen reader tool like JAWS, NVDA, Voice Over for iOS, and Android Talkback
  • Strong understanding of global accessibility laws and standards such as WCAG 2.1, Section 508, ADA
  • Experience of using contrast analyzer and color blindness simulator
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies preferable.
  • Experience in employee benefits, insurance, healthcare domain is preferrable.
  • Strong experience in conducting in-depth Section 508/WCAG compliance assessments via manual reviews and using automated test tools and assistive technologies.
  • Working knowledge with Axe Dev tool will be added advantage.
  • Having working knowledge with other Non-functional test area like performance and security testing will be added advantage.
