About role

To maintain ground-breaking propositions for Magnum and support the next wave of innovations, we are looking for a Senior AliBaba Cloud Architect who passionate about software architecture and is driven to pursue excellence in delivering premier InsurTech solutions.

As Magnum Solution Architect you will be responsible for product design, you will be combing your design thinking techniques, engineering expertise, networking skills and business domain knowledge to ensure success of product roadmap and retain knowledge in Swiss Re

Key Responsibilities


• Drive architecture and designs to become simpler, more robust, and more efficient.


• Write and review service descriptions including relevant measures of service quality and drives architecture to deliver on these promises through self-healing, reliable services that require minimum manual intervention.


• Understand the current magnum product echo system and generate HLD & LLD documents.


• Manage and groom teams for a high-performance culture and be a champion of Swiss Re's core values.


• Provide early visibility and mitigation to technical challenges through the journey.

Confidently represents product and portfolio, including vision and functional and technical roadmaps, within the company and, when necessary, to strategic.


• Writing Technical specifications and enabling developers to stick to the design.


• Code reviews to make sure quality code is delivered.


• R&D /POCs of new age requirements.

In addition to the Solution Architect responsibilities


• Architect and design highly scalable, secure, mission critical end to end Alibaba cloud solutions


• Mentor team in solving complex business problem using Alibaba capabilities


• Technnical leadership to provide inputs to Digital Governance boards and release productive solutions combining both functional applications and appropriate cloud infrastructure

Your Qualifications


• Experience in technical analysis and modelling. Familiar with technical architect modelling language and tool such as UML and EA

• Professional software development experience

• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• Experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design principles, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team.

• Designing and developing enterprise Web applications using Java, Spring MVC and distributed databases.

• Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.

• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.

• Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly

Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

• Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems

Strong background in design and implementation of external services integrations (using REST, SOAP and/or ESB).

• Experience in designing Multi-tenant SaaS products on Cloud.

• Strong working knowledge of Microservices & Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) including associated concepts such as XML data formats, Structures and Schemas, WS specifications, SOAP, Service Mediation/ESB, Digital certificates, Messaging, WS-Policy, WS-Security, WS-Addressing and other WS-* stack etc.

• Experience with Active MQ, Message Broker or other JMS based messaging platforms like Kafka, Rabbit MQ.

• Experience working with authentication tools like MFA, SAML, Open ID & OAuth.

• Leadership and good communication skills.

• Broad technical knowledge and hands-on experience in Java, Hibernate and Spring (Spring Boot 2 is plus)

• Experience working in JPA/Hibernate or other ORM technology and Sql or Pl/Sql

• Experience in Full-stack Web development, preferably React/Angular, TypeScript, , SQL/Postgres DB, API design & development

• Familiar with developing on Azure using native Terraform.

• Experience with performance and memory analysing tools like JMeter, Jprofiler and Blaze meter.

• Experience with Azure DevOps (Repo, Pipeline, CICD), Azure Data Factory.

• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

• Proficient in designing and delivering highly scalable, secure end to end cloud solutions on Alibaba Cloud
