Job Title: Senior Java Full Stack Software Development Engineer

Importance of this Role: Global Market Electronic Trading Platform Development

Global Link, a division of State Street Global Market, is a leader in providing electronic trading platforms for various asset classes. These platforms are utilized by the top 19 asset managers for trade execution and post-trade settlement management.

The team is responsible for developing advanced electronic trading systems that handle significant amounts of assets under management. Technologies utilized include Java, Node.js, Oracle, and modern web technologies. The product suite is continuously expanding both in terms of features and into new business areas and asset classes. There is also an ongoing effort to transition to microservices architecture and utilize AWS/Kubernetes.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned Java developer with strong expertise in JEE, messaging, and database development. Familiarity with microservices architecture and Kubernetes is highly preferred.

Role Summary & Description:

  • Collaborate with the team to define technical requirements and backend service architecture.
  • Develop new application features and enhance existing ones.
  • Create necessary documentation and diagrams.
  • Coordinate with other teams for deployment, testing, training, and production support.
  • Integrate with front-end development/services.
  • Ensure compliance with development, coding, privacy, and security standards.

Core/Must-have Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in core Java 11+ and JEE technologies like concurrency, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate/JPA.
  • Strong skills in Object-Oriented design and code refactoring, with familiarity in functional and reactive programming.
  • Ability to write clean and high-quality code.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, database development (SQL, PL/SQL), microservices architecture, and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent communication skills, work ethics, and a passion for professional software development.

This role involves hands-on development within a dynamic and fast-paced elite team.

Among technical skills, preference is for core Java knowledge and Object-Oriented design skills, followed by JEE expertise, and experience in microservices architecture and Kubernetes. Knowledge of messaging systems (RabbitMQ/Kafka), Redis, and websockets is advantageous.

Cloud Native Development

Exposure and understanding of modern JavaScript build toolchains using technologies like node, npm, rush, yarn, webpack, babel, cyprus.
