About the Role:

As a Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex data pipeline solutions to support key decision-making business processes for our reinsurance business domain.

You will be expected to gain understanding of the various processes involved in our Life & Health Business and take on ownership of understanding the data and the applicable business rules, required to deliver solutions for the Business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with other Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, System Architects other cross-product technology teams to understand the requirements and formulate implementation options
  • Design, develop, implement and then maintain scalable database solutions
  • Analyze existing solutions from process and code perspective and improve the overall codebase
  • Create, develop, and own data pipelines to move data across multiple systems
  • Collaborate within a global development team to design and deliver solutions
  • Assist and enlighten stakeholders with data-related functional and technical inquires.

About the Team:

This position is part of the Data Induction and Contracts Management Technical Area within the Global Reinsurance IT Solutions Architecture and Engineering team. We are part of a strategic initiative, focused at making better use of our data and deliver solutions, that enables our Business to make data driven decisions across the Life & Health reinsurance value chain.

About You:

You are curious to understand and get deeper into the reasons and "whys" behind what you are required to do. You "think" data structures and are enthusiastic about the challenge of solving complex data problems using cross-functional data solutions. You are a hands-on self-starter with a passion for coding; with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and capable of owning and implementing complete modules.

Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree level or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science or similar discipline with 7+ years of hands-on experience working with designing, developing and implementing data-oriented software systems
  • Hands-on experience with .NET backend and/or front-end UI technologies and Azure DevOps is a must. The role primarily involves working on .NET server-side, APIs, Distributed Data Processing, and .NET UI technologies.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and .NET distributed data processing is a plus
  • Proficiency in RDBMS, Data Organization and Storage concepts is a plus
  • Proficiency in PLSQL & understanding of SQL tuning & optimization is a plus
  • Some experience working with large dataset Induction, Storage and Analytical processing on enterprise data platforms
  • Experience working in a cloud environment such as Azure, Alibaba is a plus
  • Experience working ina team following Scrum/Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of the Insurance Domain, Financial Industry is a strong plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an enthusiasm to work in a Global, Diverse and Multi-cultural environment
