Seeking a strong and experienced senior mobile test automation developer and mobile manual tester with proven background in building and delivering efficient test automation infrastructure and frameworks driving mobile testing of systems and logic to ensure quality releases and products.
The successful candidate must have a foundation in testing mobile applications software and developing automation solutions for Android and/or iOS.
The successful candidate will work in testing and debugging native applications for mobile devices.This position will be responsible for testing mobile applications and contributing to the teams existing automated testing framework in terms of enhancing the framework, designing and developing automated test cases, and converting existing manual test cases to automated test cases.
This position is expected to bring industry best practices of source control, code review, and automated testing (unit and regression) to the team.
### Responsibilities:- Lead a team of test engineers (automation and manual) and ability to assign tasks and manage their deliveries.
- Test native mobile applications that make heavy use of networking code, both manually and via automation. This role is a hybrid between a traditional software QA role and an automation engineer.
- Understand the requirements, design and build manual and automated test scenarios to thoroughly test mobile apps features and logic.
- Adopt various testing methodologies like exploratory, regression, acceptance, validation, boundary, and sanity testing to ensure features are usable, reliable, and work as designed and specified.
- Design and implement test scripts and automated UI tests.
- Design and implement canaries or other equivalent automated product monitoring structures.
- Responsible for testing all functionalities and features of our mobile applications on handheld devices, ensuring the applications meet the required standards and requirements. Able to load application software to iOS and Android devices and extract data for debugging and defect reporting purposes.
- Performance/Load testing: Coordinate with development teams for benchmarking of product before releasing. Conduct suitable experiments for performance testing & running performance tests.
- Work closely with mobile developers to recognize and report all discovered problems, bottlenecks, deadlock, nonresponsive states, and any other issue that compromises the quality of the product. Be prompt in defect reporting, work with developers and tech leads, follow up.
- Be actively involved in all phases of testing life cycles such as Functional, Regression, EndtoEnd, Alpha & Release Testing, write and execute test plans and test cases.
- Be creative in designing and executing tests for edge or rare cases. Think like a user, try to replicate real users actions, thinking, and behaviors with respect to the product.
- Be actively involved in Agile development model, working with developers in sprints, insprint testing and defect reporting, participate in Agile ceremonies.
- Identify and implement QA processes and best practices as part of providing quality products for the Business, with no quality escapes.
- Should have a minimum of 3 years of manual testing experience.
- Should have a minimum of 5 years of test automation development experience for mobile.
- Should be familiar with testing native mobile applications as well as with IDEs, testing, and profiling tools.
- Experience with testing tools such as Appium, ADB, Postman Rest API, Charles Proxy.
- Experience with Python for automation and PyCharm.
- Experience with Zephyr integration with JIRA.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java and/or Swift is a value add.
- Experience creating test frameworks from the ground up.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts.
- Experience with GitLabbased CI/CD.
- Knowledge of version control systems preferably Bitbucket or Github.
- Good understanding of HTTP/S communication.
- Understanding of Bluetooth and Location functions on a mobile phone.
- Understanding of JSON formats and parsers.
- Experience with Android Studio and/or Xcode is a value add.
- Experience with Instrumentation and Profiling tools.
- Working knowledge of native apps support, properties, behavior, and life cycle in iOS and Android OS.
- Experience working in an Agilescrum environment and using Agile methodologies and tools.
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
- Good documentation skills.
- Flexible to attempt alternate solutions to resolve issues and adjust to a dynamic, changing technical and business environment.
- Ability to work independently and be a selfstarter. Direction and support will be provided by the manager or technical lead, but the candidate is expected to be a proactive member and put forth his/her ideas.
