Job Description

The internship project is in improving scalability, efficiency, and productivity of Visual-AI (Generative AI, LLMs, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning) Systems applied to the Edge/Cloud-computing. Focusing on developing systems infrastructure to improve visual processing pipelines, efficient storage-and-retrieval techniques for multimodal data management, applying orchestration and containerization techniques to improve overall system characteristics including but not limited to performance, flexibility, and ease of use. The intern will work with our Emerging Visual-AI research lab and will be responsible for researching, prototyping, collaborating with partners to deliver innovative solutions. This requires a good understanding of state-of-the-art techniques in visual analytics pipelines, parallelization patterns, and deep expertise in optimization of systems as well as benchmarking. The candidate must have strong research discipline, hands on prototyping skills, closely work with collaborators to drive research agenda. The candidate is expected to contribute to scientific literature and the research community-at-large and may participate in the development of Intellectual Property.

Qualifications

Student pursuing Masters/PhD in CS, ECE, EE, ME, or related fields.
Skills: Experience in (ML/DL, AI frameworks) + SW (Python, C++) + Computer Vision/LLM/Generative AI (Gfx pipeline, media processing, foundational models, containers, Visual Data Management, E2E pipelines etc.) and optimization algorithms.

Experience in Generative AI/LLMs, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Hands-on experience with ML toolkits/frameworks such as PyTorch etc., Strong programming expertise in Python/C++ and/or experience in optimizing algorithms and/or experience in storage-and-retrieval of visual information. Experience with scientific inquiry - ability to develop hypothesis and carry out research independently.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
