Hone your technical skills and take on a new challenge with great learning and development potentialYou'll be applying widely agreed software engineering principles and methodologies to design, develop, test and maintain applications and services to achieve business goalsYou'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships and work closely with key stakeholdersWe're offering this role at associate levelWhat you'll do As a Software Engineer, you'll be aligning to our architectural direction and principles, making sure that the applications and services being built adhere to them. You'll be liaising with engineers, architects, business analysts and other key stakeholders to understand key objectives and requirements. You'll also be: Helping to design and develop reusable libraries and application programming interfaces for use across the bankDelivering software components to enable the delivery of platforms, applications and servicesHelping to design and develop high volume, high performance and high availability applications using proven frameworks and technologiesSupporting well thought out estimates after a thorough consideration of design, build and testing of complexity and maintainability and serviceabilityThe skills you'll need To succeed in this role, you'll need a background in software engineering, software design or database design and architecture. You'll also need experience of developing software in a SOA or microservices paradigm as well as development experience in a programming language. Additionally, you'll need: Experience of Java, SQL, Rest API and GRPCExperience of test driven development alongside the use of automated test frameworks, mocking and stubbing and unit testing toolsKnowledge of the key phases of the software delivery lifecycle and established software development methodologiesThe ability to understand and support, modify and maintain systems and code developed by other engineer teamsExperience of cloud framework, AWS, FX products and FIX protocol
