Skills Description:

For an engineer level position, a minimum of 6 years of IT experience in software development is essential.

Basic Skills:

- Solid foundation in Unix/Linux operating systems, shell scripting, and operational procedures.

- Proficient in managing and operating big data technologies and ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark, HDFS, etc.) on Unix/Linux platforms.

- Demonstrated expertise in effectively managing codebases and configurations.

Key Skills for the role:

  • Proficient in automation and system management using scripting languages such as Shell and Python.
  • Skilled in configuration management tools, with a focus on Puppet.
  • Demonstrated Continuous deployment experience in deploying big data solutions onto medium to large Hadoop clusters.
  • Ideally you have experience working as a SRE engineer in bigdata environment.
  • Capable of installing, configuring, and maintaining Unix/Linux systems for big data applications.
  • Knowledgeable in networking, file system management, and security best practices.
  • Strong skills in Linux/Unix (RHEL 7).
  • Able to document system configurations, procedures, and changes for knowledge sharing and business continuity.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, including change and incident management

Nice to have Skills:

  • Familiarity with Docker
  • Experience with using & operating Apache Ranger
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Bamboo).
  • Experience in Splunk or any other enterprise logging tool
