Amazon Lab126 is a premier innovation hub where some of Amazon's most well-known and well-loved products are engineered and brought to life.

Lab126 is a multidisciplinary design team that is responsible for the hardware design across the Echo family of devices, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, e-Readers, Consumer Robotics and more.

Lab126 Hardware team's mission is to conceptualize and bring to life delightful, easy-to-use, and high value experiences for our customers.

We are looking for a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer who can bring a vast amount of knowledge and experience in SI/PI simulation and design to our team.

You will be hands on and leading by example as you define, design and deliver consumer products at huge scale with universal appeal.

You will be joining the Device & Services Organization's Centralized Electrical Engineering (CEE) team in our Asia chapter in a role that reports to our CEE management and will interface with key product teams across the Devices & Services Organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Perform system and board level SI/PI simulations.
  • Perform stackup analysis and layer assignment for high-speed interfaces and power delivery networks.
  • Perform in-depth SI/PI simulations using simulation tools that include Ansys HFSS/SIWave, Keysight ADS, Synopsys HSPICE and Cadence Sigrity.
  • Perform correlation studies between lab measurements and simulation data.
  • Electromagnetic extraction and modeling of interconnects using full 3D and 2.5D simulations and high-fidelity models.
  • Perform DC, AC and transient analysis of power delivery networks.
  • Perform time/frequency domain power integrity simulations and validate the results with lab measurements.
  • Perform SI/PI co-simulations using package/board/transistor level models.
  • Perform pre-layout and post layout statistical and transient modeling and simulations.
  • Perform end to end analysis on highspeed interfaces including USB3.0/4.0, MIPI, HDMI, ePD, EDP, DRAM, eMMC/NAND etc.
  • Analyze chip/package/PCB PDNs and optimize platform and product PCB designs.
  • Work with multi-functional team to solve and enhance SI/PI issues that affect product performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of design experience in the relevant SI/PI field.
  • Handson experience in SI/PI simulation and measurement.
  • Experience working with consumer electronics design and analysis, SI methodology development, and lab correlation/validation of the simulation results
  • Experience working with PDN model extraction, simulation, and analysis
  • Possess strong fundamentals in 3D/2D EM simulation tools, such as: ADS, HFSS, SIWave, PowerSI, HSPICE, etc
  • Solid understanding of electromagnetic & transmission line theory
  • Good knowledge of highspeed interfaces such as MIPI, DisplayPort, HDMI, USB, DRAM and general high speed SerDes applications
  • Familiarity with lab equipment, such as: VNA, TDR, realtime scope, spectrum analyzer, etc
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and all levels of an organization including executive management.
  • Strong bias for action including the ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
  • Able to travel abroad (10%)
