In-Force Structuring Actuary

About the Role
You will be responsible for networking with regional experts to develop and execute specific management actions that enhance the overall performance of Life & Health Re's in-force book of business.
Key responsibilities:
- Synthesize the knowledge gathered through professional networking to develop a pipeline of prospective actions that will assist in achieving the IFO 5-year Ambition, and advance the pipeline forward into executable transactions.
- Partner with Regional Portfolio Steering & Monitoring teams (PSM) as well as key individuals within the Marketing Unit(s) via Smart Circle participation to identify regional & MU needs.
- Collaborate with regional actuarial management teams to glean country-specific insights that could provide direct transactional and/or in-force solution opportunities.
- Engage with Finance colleagues to understand the levers within the IFRS reporting framework and characteristics of the existing balance sheet so the financial impacts of any management action is identified early in the process.
- Assist in Life & Health Re's retrocession plans; working closely with Alternative Capital Partners (ACP) as needed.
You will be the primary point of contact for key stakeholders within the region regarding IFO in-force structuring initiatives. The position reports directly to the Head of In-Force Structuring and will partner with other IFO resources within the region.

You are a naturally inquisitive person who is self-motivated to engage with others in the quest for information. Your passion to perform is motivated by investigating sub-optimal financial positions and developing innovative tactics to mitigate/resolve these inefficiencies.
Essentials
- Excellent knowledge of the life & health products within the region, especially profitability drivers and risk profiles, obtained via direct experience in costing, actuarial management, or similar roles.
- Keen aptitude of decision making through analytical assessment along with professional judgment.
- Must be able to concisely communicate a management action to key stakeholders. Furthermore, needs to routinely engage with peers throughout the organization via strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organization skills, able to prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
- In-depth knowledge of the various local actuarial valuation requirements for our clients, by country.
- Familiarity with general IFRS-17 mechanics; impact assessments.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in implementation of management actions.
