The Business Unit Business Technology Services is a special unit compared to other BU's in msg global because we are domain and technology agnostic, catering to all industry and technology areas. The BTS Unit is looking for colleagues who want to successfully shape our clients' future in the digital age. We provide consulting, development, and application maintenance services for the EMEA and NA regions in technologies like the Java ecosystem, C++, Mobility solution, SAP Core, Testing Services, and Agile & DevOps for various industries. Our international team of experts is shaping the future of IT services.


What will you do

  • Hands-on developing and maintain cloud based big data applications that deal with real-time event-based data and streaming data.
  • Hands-on working technical design, secure and optimize Cloud application and services.
  • Hands-on working with High availability and fault tolerant architectures.
  • Collaborate with developers in Europe and subject matter experts of the client to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between functional requirements and performance needs.
  • Hands-on developing cloud automation in one or more technologies such as Terraform (Infrastructure as Code / IaC) to avoid manual activities in operations or on-call duty down to zero.
  • Hands-on setting up and automation of continuous deployment of containerized Big data applications to an Azure Kubernetes Service using Azure pipelines
  • Responsibility for Components with critical availability requirements in Design, Development, Test and Operation together with your team in office hours in a full DevOps project model


What experience / skills / knowledge you should have

  • Must: Hands-on experience and good proficiency in at least JAVA programming language for mid-scale or large-scale backend systems with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development for complex backend or server solutions with Java
  • Hands-on experience in software development of cloud backend solution technologies
  • Ambition and ability to further excel in hands-on technical design and high quality implementation of complex Cloud Backend Java systems
  • A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive as intrinsic motivation.
  • Ambition and ability to work in a large international team in a very agile project model for professional software development.
  • Proficient in container-based solution services, handled large scale Kubernetes, Docker based infrastructure.
  • Optional/ desired: Experience in Cloud-tools like Azure DevOps tools, Virtual machine and Storage accounts, Helm, Nginx, Linux, PowerShell & Shell scripting, Log-Analytics
  • Optional/ desired: Interest and ability for Data driven analysis, have the skill and ability to notice/observe patterns and ways to increase efficiency, eliminate downtime, optimize costs, maintain performance at scale and achieve business outcomes
  • Optional/ desired: Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills.
  • Optional/ desired: Experience with Agile software development (scrum), DevOps, Automation
