YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Assurance Review Management

  • Prepare, update, and implement review requirements, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
  • Play a crucial role in the review process of LUF projects (e.g., AR, IFM, AGR) submitted for Gold Standard certification, driving excellence and rigor in our evaluations.
  • Collaborate dynamically with various teams to enhance project quality reviews and elevate VVB performance, contributing to the overall success of our mission.
  • Assist in streamlining and digitising the internal processes to ensure smooth functioning within the team.

Engagement with Governing Committees & Subject Matter Experts

  • Prepare insightful and regular reports on key findings related to VVB performance for Governance Committee reviews, influencing critical decisions.
  • Innovatively contribute to the development of comprehensive training materials for VVBs, ensuring they are equipped with the latest knowledge and best practices.
  • Prepare feedback based on the project reviews of GHGs methodologies and standard application.
  • Help managing strategic relationships with subject matter experts to continually enhance and innovate our assurance processes, positioning Gold Standard as a leader in the field.

Training & Capacity development strategy

  • Assist the assurance manager in delivering impactful training to internal staff, experts, certification bodies, VVBs, project developers, and other stakeholders, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct thorough research and draft compelling reports and deliverables on key assurance-related topics as required by the Director - ARM, contributing to our thought leadership.

External represantation

  • Participate and represent GS in conferences, workshops and events on standard related matters as needed and guided by the manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience of working with certification or third party auditing system and in-depth knowledge of how they are managed
  • A good understanding of the role of a Standard system like Gold Standard or CDM.
  • Experience of working with projects concerning land use and forestry, preferably in afforestation and reforestation, improved forest management, agriculture and grassland management.
  • Knowledge on climate finance, environmental markets and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is desirable
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, with an eye for detail
  • Knowledge and experience of digitization of PDF/MS Word documents and MS Excel based calculation tools is highly preferable
  • Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks and projects
  • A good team player with a positive outlook on work and a desire to make a difference in the world
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work with a range of staff based all around the world
