Working from our Cigna Health Solutions office in Bangalore, India, you'll also have the flexibility to work remotely for up to 2 days a week.

To bolster our IT division, we are currently seeking a dedicated Senior (.NET) Application Development Engineer to join our Apollo Team, a collaborative, cross-functional unit within Cigna's International Markets. As part of this team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing supported applications, ensuring their smooth operation in the production environment.

Your responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to define requirements and transform them into effective solutions.
  • Manage backend applications supporting our claims processes.
  • Develop automated unit and integration tests.
  • Propose enhancements on both functional and technical fronts.
  • Establish technical guidelines and document the implemented solutions.
  • Deliver high-quality code while adhering to deadlines and business objectives.
  • Engage in an international, cross-functional scrum team within the organization.
  • Play a proactive role in the development chapter across all scrum teams.

Don't fret; you'll collaborate closely with your fellow developers, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Subject Matter Experts, and testers within your scrum team, supported by our internal customer and architects. Additionally, you'll receive backing from the Developer Chapter, a group of .NET developers across all IOH teams.

General requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT.
  • Demonstrate strong English language skills and effective communication capabilities.
  • Possess at least 5 years of experience in .NET development.
  • Translate functional analysis into technical designs, collaborating with the Architecture team.
  • Operate well both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm for working on tailored .NET components and configuring imaging & workflow platforms.
  • Showcase exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Drive solutions from concept to release and maintain a customer-centric approach.
  • Display strong motivational and persuasive abilities.
  • Be attuned to cultural diversities and enjoy working in a global team.
  • Handle ambiguity effectively.

Essential technical skills

  • Proficiency in .NET and MS SQL using Visual Studio.

Experience in any of the following is a big plus

  • Previous exposure to Agile methodologies (SAFe, SCRUM, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ORM Frameworks, Enterprise Library, NuGet, WCF.
  • Knowledge of ALM/DevOps tools like Azure Devops Pipelines.
  • Experience with Windows Server infrastructure (e.g., IIS).
  • Proficiency in GIT or TFS version control systems.
