Summary / Role Purpose

Be part of the Ansys Customer Excellence team to assist our clients in all aspects of their real-world engineering simulation projects and the integration of Ansys software into their design workflows to drive Ansys' growth. Utilize your engineering expertise to offer technical post-sales support, tackle a variety of technical challenges, and communicate customer feedback to enhance Ansys products. Collaborate with a positive, dynamic team of dedicated engineers, dedicated to delivering top-notch solutions to our clients, expanding your knowledge, experience, and impact on both our clients and Ansys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize engineering knowledge and Optics simulation techniques to deliver top-tier technical support to Ansys Zemax customers and Channel Partners in North America
  • Follow support processes to ensure high-quality, prompt customer service leading to high satisfaction levels
  • Develop expertise in one or more simulation areas for Optics applications
  • Provide product improvement suggestions when necessary. Report defects and confirm fixes following defect reporting processes. May engage in field testing of new releases to ensure alignment with customer needs
  • Create best practice documentation based on customer interactions
  • Occasionally support Sales and Marketing by hosting demonstrations, webinars, online training, and other events
  • Participate in additional strategic team and company initiatives as required

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Minimum educational qualification: MS in Physics, Optics, Optical Engineering, or related field
  • Hands-on experience in an engineering software environment
  • Practical experience with commercial optics software tools (e.g., Ansys Zemax OpticStudio or Synopsys CodeV)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in English
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities, with a sense of urgency
  • Projects professionalism, business acumen, and a drive for success
  • Capability to effectively work independently in a distributed team setup
  • Demonstrated experience in optical systems modeling
  • Thorough knowledge of optical theory
  • Proficient in offering customer technical support, consulting services, or similar customer-facing roles

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Preferred educational background and professional experience in an engineering software environment: MS+2, PhD+0
  • Ability to travel nationally up to 10% of the time
  • Familiarity with Python and Matlab
  • At least two (2) years of hands-on experience using Ansys Zemax OpticStudio software
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an engineering software setting
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role
