You will participatein designs and implementation on a team building high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant Paid Mediasolutions to drive Nike’s Digital transformation and growth strategies. The candidate needs to have strongcommunication skills, help solve complex problems, and be a collaborative teammate.• A 0-2 years software development experience in data engineering with experience in Python orJava, Databricks, Hive, Spark, EMR and SQL• Demonstrated strength in data modelling, ETL development, and data streaming• Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles• Familiarity with the challenge of moving large files across a geographically disperse network.Knowledge of different accelerated transfer methods and technologies• Experience in microservices architecture, domain driven design, and RESTful API’s• Experience using cloud services to build an integrated application (AWS - EC2, ECS, API gateway,Lambda, DynamoDB, Kafka).• Experience with implementing CI/CD and leading teams with DevOps responsibilities of deployingand supporting the software in production• Experience with highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environments• Experience with developing automated tests (E2E) with testing frameworks• Solid understanding of Scrum and Agile principles• Dedication to and hands-on experience in performing technical code reviews• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively connect withboth business and technical teams• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems, or a combination ofrelevant education, experience, and trainingWHAT YOU’LL WORK ONYou will build and deliver the technical runway for existing and new technological capabilities to supportmultiple mission critical systems within the Paid Media space. You will rely on your understanding ofscalable, highly available, and consistent distributed systems to design world class solutions.Design & Develop: Build, test, and maintain data pipelines providing functionality necessary toenable our advertising efforts.• Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, engineers to understand requirements,technical specifications, and deliver quality software.• Explain designs to teammates to for alignment and approval• Ensure solutions are designed and developed using a scalable, highly resilient cloud-nativearchitecture• Development: Design and implement large datasets and complex data pipelines usingtechnologies like Python, Java, Databricks, Hive and Spark• Participate in design reviews with peers to provide feedback• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best• practices• Database Management: Develop databases, ensuring efficient data storage• and retrieval.• Testing & Quality Assurance: Write unit tests, integration tests, and maintain high• code quality standards using tools such as Jest, Mocha, or similar.• Performance Optimization: Identify and fix performance bottlenecks across the full• stack, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.• CI/CD Integration: Integrate with and maintain continuous integration/continuous• deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for seamless software delivery.• Agile Methodologies: Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily• stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives.• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based onproduct/program updates and user feedback.
