The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and experience managing software development teams. The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for driving technical innovation, ensuring high-quality software delivery, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

We value hands-on leadership—this role involves approximately 85% hands-on technical work alongside management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have experience managing cross-functional teams and large, complex projects, while remaining deeply involved in the technical execution.

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of successfully managing teams and projects.

  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.

  • Proven ability to build scalable software applications using microservices.

  • Exposure to AI technologies and developer tools like Copilot is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi is beneficial.

  • Deep understanding and practical application of modern build, continuous integration, and testing strategies.

  • Strong Agile practice experience with Scrum and DevOps.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a Software Engineering Manager, your primary role on the team will be to lead our Converse Integration India Technology Center (ITC) based squad members. You will help coach the team to design, deliver, maintain, support, and optimize our technology. You will ensure we are delivering performant, scalable, extensible, and sustainable solutions by being hands-on, providing technical direction, and ensuring detailed solution documentation. You will align engineering resources to support product outcomes.

You will:

  • Lead the integration team in designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and align with company goals.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy that supports business growth and innovation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and data analytics, to identify integration opportunities and prioritize development.

  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, best practices, and company policies.

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and guide career development.
