Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8 - 10 years experience in developing and administering databases in large scope production and non-production SQL Server environments.
  • The role requires a minimum of 7+ years of experience working as a SQL Server DBA and should include retail functional and application DBA experience.
  • Proficiency in MS SQL Server 2014 - 2019, along with skills in SSIS package creation and debugging, stored procedure development, and tuning, is crucial.
  • Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of 5 years administering database platform-specific advanced features, including clustering, encryption, logical/physical standby, ETL, replication, as well as optimizing server database servers and SQL code.
  • Prior experience with SQL and Windows Clustering including AlwaysOn SQL Server Availability Groups, Strong Transact-SQL, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), performance tuning, backup and recovery methods, database capacity planning, and Users and Role creation and monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and related services (e.g., Azure DB Migrations, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Pipelines, Azure Power BI).
  • Sound knowledge of relational database design and modeling fundamentals, principles, and best-practices
  • Strong knowledge and experience with server hardware including OS, storage, and related technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to be flexible, meet deadlines, multi-task between projects and prioritize work based on urgency, criticality, and business needs.
  • Assist in performance and load testing activities.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related technical field
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new, complex development environments; passionate about building and improving webstore features in a fast pace, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive with excellent judgment, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Agile planning/execution skills including estimating, scheduling, and executing on committed schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work well in a team, project management and technical leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, Cloud, Micro Services, Jira, Confluence; Jenkins
  • Experience with the Retail E-commerce environment would be a plus.
  • Experience with SQL Server Replication and AlwaysOn technologies.
  • Experience developing BI solutions using SQL Server technology stack.
