Established in 2020, MUFG Global Service Private Limited (MGS) is 100% subsidiary of MUFG having offices in Bengaluru and Mumbai. MGS India has been set up as a Global Capability Centre / Centre of Excellence to provide support services across various functions such as IT, KYC/ AML, Credit, Operations etc. to MUFG Bank offices globally. MGS India has plans to significantly ramp-up its growth over the next 18-24 months while servicing MUFGs global network across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.

As anAssistant Vice President (AVP)in the Compliance team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and quality of data that underpins critical compliance functions such as Trade Surveillance, Compliance Testing, and Communications Monitoring. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and technically proficient professional who thrives in a fast-paced, regulatory-driven environment.

You will be responsible for managing data quality issues across Compliance platforms, supporting data governance initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data reliability and compliance effectiveness. Your expertise in data analysis, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance will be instrumental in identifying risks, driving improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making.

This is a high-impact role that offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of compliance, technology, and data management, contributing directly to the firms regulatory obligations and operational excellence.

Job Profile

Position details:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AVP to join our Compliance team. The successful candidate will support Data Quality Issue Management forCore Compliance which includesTrade Surveillance, Compliance Testing and communication systems. This role requires a strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data analysis, and data platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Data Quality Management: Lead the identification, documentation, and resolution of data quality issues across Compliance platforms. Produce and present monthly management information (MI) reports to track progress and highlight key trends.
  • Compliance Surveillance Support: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data used in surveillance systems by validating data feeds and resolving discrepancies. Collaborate with surveillance teams to enhance the effectiveness of trade and communications monitoring tools.
  • Data Governance Execution: Operate within established data governance frameworks to maintain high standards of data quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance. Support the implementation of data stewardship practices across Compliance functions.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Conduct in-depth data analysis to detect anomalies, trends, and potential compliance risks. Use data visualization tools to communicate findings and support decision-making.
  • Technical Enablement: Apply technical knowledge of data platforms and tools to support data integration, transformation, and management processes. Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines and quality controls.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with IT, Compliance, and Business Units to address data quality issues, implement sustainable solutions, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Design and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor data quality metrics and compliance performance indicators. Provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge and Experience: Seasoned professional with 10-12 years of experience along with strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices within financial services.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify actionable insights.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with regulatory compliance in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with trade surveillance and electronic communications monitoring systems.
  • Certification in data governance or data quality management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).
