About the role:


We’re seeking a talented Software Engineer (1 to 3 years of experience) to join our team, where you’ll work with an early stage fintech AI startup building innovative products at the intersection of finance and artificial intelligence.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on backend architecture and data-driven systems, with meaningful contributions to product experience. You’ll help design, develop, and optimise APIs, core logic, and backend infrastructure while collaborating closely with the product team.

# What You’ll Do


- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI).

- Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless full-stack functionality.

- Design and optimise database schemas, queries, and data flows (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

- Implement authentication, authorisation, and security best practices.

- Leverage AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to enhance development efficiency.

- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration workflows.

- Work closely with product and data teams to design scalable solutions for fintech and AI-driven features.


# What We’re Looking For


- 1-3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.

- Strong expertise in Python, with experience in FastAPI or Flask.

- Solid understanding of TypeScript and NPM ecosystem.

- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.

- Knowledge of SQL / NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

- Proficient understanding of Docker, Git, and modern deployment practices.

- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.

- Ability to communicate effectively in English (proficient or conversational level).

- Comfortable working remotely, taking ownership, and thriving in fast-moving startup environments.


Bonus Points If You Have:

- Knowledge of asynchronous programming and performance optimization.

- Familiarity with AWS, GCP or any other cloud provider.

- Previous experience in Product based companies in GenAI space
