SAP Project Manager

Location- Hyderabad/ Chennai

Experience- 7 to 10 years

Required Technical Skill Set**

The Scrum Master / Project Manager is responsible for leading SAP S/4HANA implementation projects using Agile methodologies, ensuring timely delivery, quality outcomes, and stakeholder alignment. This role combines Agile leadership with traditional project management skills, focusing on SAP Finance, Procurement, and related modules. The position requires strong experience in Scrum practices, SAP project delivery, and cross-functional team management.

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have**


7 + years of experience in Scrum/project management, with at least 5 years in SAP programs.


SAP Project Expertise

• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA modules (FI-CO, MM, Ariba, Fieldglass, Concur).

• Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and ASAP framework.

• Knowledge of SAP integration points and data migration processes.


Agile Tools & Practices

• Jira, Azure Boards or similar Agile project management tools.

• Sprint planning, backlog grooming, and velocity tracking.

• Leading Scrum teams and reporting of scrum metrics and optimising flow and predictability etc.

• Scrum Master Certification.


Project Management Tools

• MS Project, SAP Solution Manager, or equivalent.

• Budgeting, resource planning, and reporting.


Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex SAP programs.

Communication: Clear articulation of project status and technical concepts to stakeholders.

Collaboration: Work effectively with business, IT, and vendor teams.

Problem-Solving: Resolve impediments and manage risks proactively.

Adaptability: Balance Agile principles with SAP project realities.

Time Management: Handle multiple workstreams and meet deadlines

SN Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

1 Act as Scrum Master for multiple SAP S/4HANA workstreams.

2 Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

3 Coach teams on Agile principles and ensure adherence to Scrum practices.

4 Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables for SAP programs.

5 Manage dependencies across Finance, Procurement, and integration streams.

7 Track progress using Agile tools (Jira, Azure Boards etc) and prepare status reports.

8 Ensure compliance with governance and quality standards.

9 Collaborate with Product Owners, SAP Solution Architects, and Business leads.

10 Conduct workshops and presentations for senior leadership.

11 Manage vendor relationships and coordinate offshore/onshore teams.

12 Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.

13 Resolve impediments and escalate issues promptly.

14 Drive process improvements and Agile maturity within SAP programs.

15 Implement best practices for hybrid delivery (Agile + Waterfall for SAP) as required
