We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing, optimizing, and securing database systems.

This role is crucial for ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of our databases, as well as supporting development and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases.

- Monitor and maintain database performance, availability, and reliability.

- Perform regular backups, restores, and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability.

- Manage and optimize database storage and data integrity.

- Analyze and optimize database performance using tools and techniques such as indexing, query optimization, and system configuration.

- Monitor and diagnose performance issues and implement corrective actions.

- Perform capacity planning and scaling of database resources based on usage patterns and growth projections.

- Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data.

- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.

- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient database schemas and data models.

- Review and approve database designs and changes to ensure alignment with architectural standards and best practices.

- Support database migrations, upgrades, and integration with other systems.

- Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.

- Perform root cause analysis of database issues and implement permanent fixes.

- Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes.

- Work closely with software developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database related projects and initiatives.

- Communicate database-related information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Stay updated with the latest database technologies, tools, and best practices.

- Propose and implement improvements to database management processes and procedures.

- Contribute to the development of internal knowledge base and training materials.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience : 5+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator.

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in managing and administering one or more DBMS platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases.

- Strong knowledge of SQL and database querying languages.

- Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

- Familiarity with database monitoring and performance tuning tools.

- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automation tasks.

- Understanding of operating systems and hardware platforms relevant to database environments.

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

- Knowledge of database clustering, replication, and high availability configurations.

- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e. CI/CD pipelines).

- Relevant certifications (e., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, or equivalent)
