Role Overview :

As a Senior PHP/Laravel Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality web applications.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PHP and Laravel, as well as additional skills in React, Docker, and database management (PostGres or MySQL).

You will work remotely and independently, managing complex systems that have the potential to scale.

Roles and responsibilities :

- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable PHP and Laravel code.

- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic using React.

- Work on bridging the gap between graphical design and technical implementation.

- Utilize Docker for developing, deploying, and managing applications in containerized environments.

- Streamline application deployments to enhance development workflow.

- Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using MySQL and PostGres.

- Optimize database queries and ensure data integrity and security.

- Work closely with other developers, project managers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

- Conduct thorough testing of applications and address bugs and performance issues.

- Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests where applicable.

- Analyze complex technical challenges and provide innovative solutions.

- Stay updated with emerging technologies and frameworks to suggest improvements.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation for developed applications and systems.

- Document coding standards, technical guidelines, and best practices.

Requirements :

- Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in PHP and Laravel development.

- Demonstrated experience working on complex systems that have scaled.

- Strong proficiency in PHP and the Laravel framework.

- Experience with MySQL databases and database design.

- Solid understanding of front-end technologies and integration, with experience in React as a bonus.

- Familiarity with Docker for containerization and deployment.

- Knowledge of PostGres databases is a plus.

- Recent hands-on experience with PHP beyond e-commerce or WordPress platforms.

- Ability to demonstrate experience in handling non-trivial projects.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will also be considered.
