Role Description

This is a contract, on-site role for a SAP ABAP Programmer with strong Ariba process knowledge, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The SAP ABAP Programmer will be responsible for developing and maintaining SAP programs, integrating Ariba solutions, working with IDoc and BAPI, and managing SAP products. Daily tasks will include programming, integration, troubleshooting, and ensuring the seamless operation of SAP systems.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain ABAP programs, reports, enhancements, and forms supporting Ariba-related business processes.
  • Work closely with functional teams (MM, Ariba, FI) to understand and translate procurement and sourcing workflows into technical specifications.
  • Support Ariba business processes including:
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
  • Supplier Lifecycle & Performance
  • Sourcing and Contract Management
  • Catalog and Purchase Requisition Management
  • Develop and optimize custom reports, forms (SmartForms/Adobe Forms), and enhancements for Ariba-linked transactions.
  • Ensure ABAP code follows SAP development standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Ariba Process Consultants to support business users during testing and go-live.
  • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and technical documentation.


Required Skills & Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience in ECC or S/4HANA environments.
  • Strong understanding of Ariba business processes (Procurement, Sourcing, Supplier Management).
  • Good exposure to MM and FI integration points supporting Ariba transactions.
  • Experience in Enhancements (BADI/User-Exits), ALV Reports, OData Services, and ABAP on HANA preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with global business and functional teams.


Good to Have


  • Experience working on SAP Ariba P2P or Sourcing implementation/support projects.
  • Knowledge of workflow management and Fiori/UI5 extensions.
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps used in Ariba scenarios.
