Performance Test Engineer

Location : Ahmedabad (Hybrid)

Experience : 4 to 6 Years

Project Contract : 12 months (Extends)

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Build and manage a world class team of software engineers to deliver best in class capability for performance engineering and testing

- Advise on performance testing capabilities using Load Runner and other Load Testing / Monitoring Tools

- Define testing processes, technologies, tools and leverage methodologies predominantly based on automated scripts and programs

- Analyze usage patterns/launch archetypes, and refine testing strategies accordingly

- Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure regarding performance engineering, design, and testing

- Identify bottle-necks and tuning points, partnering close with Development team to characterize and improve application scalability and performance in software architectures

- Regular reporting and escalations to PE and Quality Assurance (QA) and Testing Services Management, to stakeholders

- A broad knowledge of performance testing methodology and tools with an understanding of a wide variety of technologies and architectures

- A strong knowledge of back-end, machine to machine interface testing including Messaging and Web Services

- A complete understanding of software development life cycle and various performance engineering concepts like caching, scalability

Desired experience for performance engineering includes :

- Bachelors/Masters of Science degree in a computer science or equivalent in work experience bringing new technologies to market in highly complicated, ambiguous, fast pace business environments

- Experience with cloud and open source technologies, a plus

- Thought leader on performance patterns

- Ability to build and lead a team of industry recognized performance experts

- Responsible for instrumentation of code, measurement, and identification of performance bottlenecks in the system.

- Create and execute performance test strategy and test plan, interfacing with all level of the application protocol stack

- Work with the entire team to identify potential application and infrastructure bottlenecks and suggest changes

- Set up the performance test process from scratch

- Own the performance test process

- Mentor QA team on best practices

- Ensure highest standard of testing is achieved

- Work on latest technologies and gain insight on new business models

- Expand scope and depth of your technical leadership

- Work alongside architects to set up the performance test processes

- Identify bottle necks, stress and load test and follow performance testing processes

Performance Tester Qualifications :

- Ability to take each performance issue analysis as far as possible, to the point of being able to suggest a fix

- Ability to recommend scope for performance tests and to interpret results

- Financial services business processes an advantage

- At least 1 year experience with designing, planning and execution of system testing strategies and tactics to ensure software quality at all stages of the system life cycle

- Minimum of 4 years working on performance testing and engineering of large scale eCommerce/web applications

- Experience in planning and estimation of performance test team activities, manage test preparation and test execution tasks, ensuring they are completed on time
