Our platform enables payers, employers, andconsumers to optimize healthcare spending and maximize value.As we continue to innovate in AI-driven healthcare payment solutions, we seek a Senior VicePresident of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science to lead our AI and data strategy, driveinnovation in agentic product offerings, and establish an AI-first culture within the organization.Role SummaryThe Head of Data Science & AI will lead Alegeus’ efforts in building and scaling AI-drivenproducts and services. This role requires an AI leader who has built AI and data science teamsfrom the ground up, managed teams ranging from 10 to 100+, and successfully delivered AIpoweredproducts.This leader will be responsible for working with the leadership team across functions to defineAI strategy, managing geographically distributed AI and data science teams across the US andBangalore, and ensuring AI innovation aligns with business objectives and regulatoryrequirements in the healthcare funding and payments industry.Key ResponsibilitiesAI & Data Science Strategy & Execution• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership (Product, Engineering, Operations,Compliance, and Finance) to define and drive Alegeus’ AI and data science strategy.• Lead the development of agentic AI products that automate decision-making, enhancepersonalization, and improve operational efficiencies.• Identify high-impact AI and machine learning use cases, including predictive analytics,fraud detection, automated customer service, and intelligent financial managementtools.• Ensure AI initiatives are ethically designed, regulatory-compliant (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.),and secure in handling sensitive healthcare and financial data.• Manage Data Engineering teams delivering on a vision of an AI-ready enterprise dataplatform, ensuring seamless data integration, transformation, and optimization tosupport advanced AI capabilities.Team Leadership & Organizational AI Maturity• Build and scale an AI and data science practice from the ground up, hiring, managing,and mentoring a high-performing team of Data Engineers, AI Engineers, Data Scientists,and ML Engineers.• Lead teams from 10 to 100 members, ensuring talent acquisition, training, and retentionstrategies foster a world-class AI organization.• Manage geographically distributed teams across the US and Bangalore, ensuringseamless collaboration, cultural alignment, and operational efficiency.• Drive AI literacy across the organization by collaborating with product, engineering, andbusiness teams to integrate AI capabilities into Alegeus' core offerings.• Cultivate a culture of AI-first thinking, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.AI Product Development & Deployment• Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered products that createtangible business value in healthcare payments, funding accounts, and personalizedconsumer experiences.• Oversee AI-powered conversational agents, workflow automation, and decision-supportsystems to improve customer and partner interactions.• Work closely with product and engineering teams to deploy AI solutions at scale withinAlegeus’ technology ecosystem.• Implement MLOps best practices to ensure AI models are robust, continuouslyimproving, and operationally efficient.Data Strategy & Governance• Work with the enterprise AI taskforce and data governance frameworks that ensurecompliance, security, and responsible AI practices.• Drive data strategy to optimize data pipelines, analytics infrastructure, and AI modelperformance.• Leverage AI to enhance data-driven decision-making, risk assessment, and fraudprevention across healthcare financial transactions.Industry Leadership & Innovation• Keep Alegeus at the forefront of AI-driven healthcare payment solutions, identifying andintegrating emerging AI trends and technologies.• Build external partnerships with AI research institutions, healthcare providers, andfintech innovators to accelerate AI-driven capabilities.• Represent Alegeus in industry conferences, AI thought leadership forums, andregulatory discussions on AI in healthcare finance.Qualifications & ExperienceMust-Have Qualifications• 15+ years of experience in Analytics, Data Science, AI, or closely related fields, with atleast 5 years in a leadership role (Director or above).• Proven experience building AI and data science teams from scratch and scaling teamsfrom 10 to 100.• Successfully delivered AI-powered products, from conception to deployment, thatcreated real business impact.• Deep knowledge of AI/ML technologies, LLMs, NLP, computer vision, and reinforcementlearning.• Experience in healthcare, fintech, or payments industry, particularly in AI applicationsfor fraud detection, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation.• Strong understanding of AI governance, ethics, data privacy laws (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.),and regulatory compliance in AI-driven healthcare payment systems.• Experience in MLOps, cloud AI deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data infrastructureoptimization.• Proven ability to manage geographically distributed teams across the US and Bangalore,ensuring productivity, cultural alignment, and operational efficiency.• Experience managing Data Engineering teams to support an AI-ready enterprise dataplatform.• Demonstrated ability to work across leadership functions to integrate AI strategy intobusiness goals.• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications• Prior experience leading AI innovation in a healthcare payments or fintech environment.• Background in financial modeling, AI-powered payment systems, or healthcare fundinganalytics.• Experience with AI-powered consumer engagement tools, AI-driven claims processing,or smart financial assistants.• Strong relationships with AI research labs, tech
