Job Description :
We are seeking an experienced Report Quality Engineer with 8 to 10 years of expertise in testing data reports, dashboards, and visualizations. You will ensure the quality, accuracy, and performance of reports across various platforms and tools. The role requires a strong understanding of functional and non-functional testing, along with the ability to validate data accuracy, user experience, and system performance. You will also be responsible for testing across multiple devices and browsers while working closely with development teams to maintain high-quality standards in reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Report Data Validation Testing :
- Perform validation checks on data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Validate metrics, KPIs, drill-downs, filters, and report data alignment across various sources.
- Ensure correctness of data representations and identify any anomalies.
2. UI/UX Testing :
- Verify the look and feel of reports, including color schemes, layout consistency, and design standards.
- Validate intuitive user experience, easy navigation, and effective visual communication in reports and dashboards.
3. Performance and Load Testing :
- Test report performance under different load conditions, ensuring high responsiveness and efficiency.
- Assess report load times with large datasets and ensure optimal performance under peak usage.
4. Browser Testing :
- Test reports across multiple web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, to ensure compatibility and consistent performance.
- Identify and address browser-specific issues that impact report quality.
5. Mobile Testing :
- Validate report functionality, usability, and responsiveness across mobile devices (iPhone, Android, tablets).
- Ensure mobile optimization and seamless user experience across smaller screens.
6. Automation Testing :
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for repetitive testing tasks using appropriate automation tools.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing.
7. Testing Tools Experience :
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Use these tools to generate reports and validate data consistency.
8. Test Case Development :
- Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts covering functional and non-functional requirements.
- Ensure thorough documentation of the testing process, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
9. Functional and Non-Functional Testing :
- Perform various types of testing, including positive/negative testing, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Validate both functional and non-functional requirements of the reports.
10. Test Process Management :
- Organize and document test processes, ensuring alignment with the project timeline.
- Effectively manage test execution, tracking issues, and ensuring timely resolutions.
11. Defect Management :
- Identify, document, and track defects in a defect management system.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and close defects.
12. Collaboration :
- Work closely with business analysts, report authors, and developers to understand reporting requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Experience : 8 to 10 years of experience in quality assurance, with a focus on testing data reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Reporting Tools : Strong experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Automation Tools : Proficiency with testing automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, or similar tools.
- Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of SQL and data querying techniques; familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java) for automation.
- Testing Skills : Experience in functional, non-functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
- Soft Skills : Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and documentation skills.
Good to Have :
- Experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipeline testing.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter.
