Position : IT Operations and Information Security Management System Lead @ Avataar, Full-time, Bengaluru, India.

Avataar is looking for an IT & ISMS Team Lead to be responsible and accountable for protecting the organization's IT infrastructure, networks, and data from various cyber threats.

This role includes developing, implementing, and monitoring security policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will have improved skills, proven professional experience, and detailed knowledge of the industry's best practice processes.

Key responsibilities for this role are :

- Design and deploy functional networks, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN.

- Configure and install various network devices and services (e. , routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, QoS).

- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access control.

- Conduct regular security assessments and updates to protect the network from unauthorized access, breaches, and other vulnerabilities.

- Analyze network performance metrics and optimize network configurations for improved speed, reliability, and scalability.

- Implement network traffic management and quality of service (QoS) techniques to prioritize critical applications and services.

- Lead IT team projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget and optimizing resource allocation.

- Identify and recommend new technologies and tools that can improve efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.

- Skilled in large-scale data lake implementations using AWS/Azure.

- Extensive experience in working with cross-functional teams, Skilled in large-scale IT ERP projects/implementations and ISO standards, 6 Sigma.

- Ensure the organization's IT systems comply with relevant security standards and regulations.

- Assist with audits and assessments conducted by external regulatory bodies or internal audit teams.

- Lead the response to security incidents, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts.

- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in the organization's IT systems.

- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks.

- Conduct security awareness training for employees to educate them on best practices for maintaining security and avoiding potential threats.

- Develop and distribute materials to promote a security-conscious culture within the organization.

- Lead, mentor, and motivate a small team to achieve individual and collective goals.

- Manage team workload, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely completion of tasks.

- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance.

- Make informed decisions to overcome obstacles and keep projects on track.

Core skills required for this role are :

- Strong understanding of network architecture and protocols.

- Proficiency in securing network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security appliances.

- Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools, antivirus software, encryption technologies, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tools.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

Qualifications pertinent to this role are :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field with 5-8 years of work experience in total, wherein the strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security architecture.

- Previous experience in a similar leadership role will be an added advantage.

- Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and services.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Knowledge of network security principles and practices.

- Proven expertise in IT asset management, data management, networks, and network administration.

- Experience with cloud security and securing virtualized environments.
