This role offers end-to-end ownership and significant collaboration with top-tier software engineers who are passionate about making our customers successful.WHAT YOU'LL DODesign and implement creative new algorithms and technologies for high-performance, highly reliable distributed storage systems, directly contributing to our goal of industry-leading six 9's of uptime.Take end-to-end ownership of features and projects, driving technical design, coding, testing, and deployment to deliver impactful innovations directly to our customers.Analyze and solve the most challenging problems in areas like distributed consensus, resource management, and data integrity to ensure the platform's scalability and robustness.Collaborate daily with a team of experienced and inspiring engineers to perform rigorous code reviews, share technical expertise, and influence the architectural direction of the Core Engineering platform.Relate platform performance and feature delivery directly to business impact, ensuring our technical choices meet customer needs and maintain our competitive advantage in the modern data landscape.WHAT YOU BRINGDeep mastery of a programming language like GO, C, C++, Python, with the ability to write clean, high-performance, and maintainable production code.Deep expertise in *Linux or NIX-based systems programming, including a strong understanding of kernel-level concepts.Proven design sensibility and the ability to think critically about system architecture, trade-offs, and failure modes in complex, distributed environments.Demonstrable experience with the full lifecycle of hardware-software integration, including system bring-up, platform requirements definition, and debugging low-level interfaces (e.g., BMC, BIOS, PCI-e, I2C/SMBUS).Practical experience with storage or L2/L3 networking protocols and components, enabling you to deliver features that meet demanding mission-critical application requirements.A strong background in relevant systems software projects such as Distributed Systems, Database internals, or Virtualization (Hypervisors/Containers).Exceptional problem-solving skills and a persistent, insightful approach to tackling complex technical challenges and debugging at scale.We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bangalore, India office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
