Senior Data Scientist – Piramal Finance

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our Analytics team. You’ll work at the intersection of data and business strategy, using Python, SQL, and ML to solve real problems and enable smarter decisions across the organisation. If you enjoy working end-to-end with large, messy datasets and building models and tools that actually get used, you’ll feel at home here.

What you’ll be doing

  • Use advanced analytics, statistical modelling, and ML to uncover insights and drive decision-making.
  • Build predictive models, run scenario simulations, and design data-driven solutions for business problems.
  • Clean, prepare, and analyze large datasets; perform root-cause analysis to explain performance drivers.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Define data and modelling requirements, set up pipelines, and ensure quality throughout the process.
  • Continuously improve our analytics methods, data workflows, and reporting processes.
  • Stay current with emerging tools, ML/AI techniques, and industry best practices, bringing new ideas into the function.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and cross-functional partners on high-impact analytical projects.


What you bring

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in financial services, or adjacent domains.
  • Strong command of Python, SQL, and end-to-end model development — from data prep to validation and deployment.
  • Solid skills in data visualization and storytelling, with the ability to turn analysis into clear business narratives.
  • Proven ability to build and operationalize statistical or ML models in real business environments.
  • Comfort working with ambiguous problems, messy datasets, and evolving requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and a consultative mindset — able to influence decisions using data-driven insights.
