Job Description - Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer

Location: Across Bangalore


Job Summary: The Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects within the real estate division. The role involves cost estimation, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and ensuring project cost efficiency from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents for residential and commercial projects.

2. Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to ensure project feasibility and profitability.

3. Review and evaluate contractor quotations, bids, and material rates.

4. Manage project budgets, cash flow, and cost control throughout all project phases.

5. Prepare and review measurement sheets, work certifications, and contractor bills.

6. Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project costs and timelines.

7. Identify and analyze variations and claims, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals.

8. Assist in procurement planning and vendor negotiations.

9. Maintain updated records of all cost-related documents and project financial reports.

10. Support project audits, and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and statutory regulations.


Qualifications & Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.

2. 3–7 years of experience in QS or cost management within the real estate or construction industry.

3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and estimation techniques.

4. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, and cost estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar).

5. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

6. Attention to detail and ability to work under tight timelines.

7. Experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use real estate projects.
