Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (DBA & Data Warehouse)The Role:We are looking for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in both traditional database administration and modern cloud data warehousing. This is a unique and high-impact role where you will be a key architect and builder of our new, centralized Data Warehouse—the "single source of truth" that will power our company's entire analytics and AI strategy. You will be responsible for not only ensuring the performance and reliability of our current database ecosystem but also for designing and implementing the scalable, data-driven foundation for our future.Key Responsibilities:Database Administration & Optimization: Ensure the performance, availability, and security of our entire database infrastructure (~75 instances), including performance tuning, query optimization, and implementing backup/recovery strategies.Architect & Build: Take a leading role in the design, development, and implementation of our new, centralized Data Warehouse on a major cloud platform (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake).ETL/ELT Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines to ingest data from ~15 disparate application sources (UMS, LMS, CRM) into the central warehouse.Data Modeling & Governance: Work with business stakeholders and our data science team to define data models, create schemas, and implement data quality and governance standards within the new warehouse.Collaboration & Enablement: Partner closely with our application development teams to ensure their features are built with data integrity in mind and with our data science team to provide them with the clean, reliable data they need to build BI dashboards and ML models.Required Skills & Qualifications:Expertise in Database Management: 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA or Data Engineer, with deep expertise in SQL, performance tuning, indexing, and database security.Cloud Data Warehouse Experience: Proven, hands-on experience building and managing a data warehouse on a major cloud platform (AWS Redshift is a strong plus; experience with Snowflake or Google BigQuery is also highly valued).ETL/ELT Proficiency: Demonstrable experience with data pipeline tools and frameworks (e.g., AWS Glue, Fivetran, Airbyte, or custom scripting).Cloud Infrastructure Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud services on AWS, particularly RDS, S3, and data networking/security principles.Problem-Solving Mindset: A passion for solving complex data challenges and a proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
