Job Summary :
The Head of IT will be responsible for overseeing the entire IT function, ensuring the alignment of IT strategy with business goals, and managing the implementation and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong technical background, experience in IT automation, and the ability to manage a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Strategic Planning and Leadership :
- Develop and execute an IT strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
- Provide leadership and direction to the IT department, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior management to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance business operations.
- Participate in senior management meetings, contributing to overall business strategy and decision-making processes.
- Advise the executive team on emerging technologies and potential opportunities to leverage IT for competitive advantage.
2. IT Infrastructure Management :
- Oversee the management of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems to support business needs.
- Manage the integration and maintenance of Windows and Mac environments, ensuring compatibility and user satisfaction.
3. Cloud-Based Applications :
- Lead the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of cloud-based applications such as SAP, Salesforce, and Microsoft enterprise applications.
- Ensure seamless integration of these applications with existing systems and processes.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and updates in cloud technologies to leverage their full potential.
4. IT Automation :
- Develop and implement an IT automation strategy to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
- Identify opportunities for automation across IT operations, including system monitoring, patch management, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Evaluate and deploy automation tools and technologies.
4. Security and Compliance :
- Ensure the implementation of robust security measures to protect company data and IT assets.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee regular security audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning.
- Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
5. Team Management :
- Manage, mentor, and develop the IT team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback and training opportunities.
- Ensure the IT team has the necessary resources and skills to meet organizational needs.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the IT team.
6. Vendor and Budget Management :
- Oversee relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring the best value and service delivery.
- Negotiate contracts and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Monitor and control IT expenditures, providing regular budget reports to senior management.
7. User Support and Experience :
- Ensure high-quality IT support for all users, addressing issues promptly and effectively.
- Implement user training programs to enhance IT literacy and self-sufficiency.
- Monitor user satisfaction and continuously seek ways to improve the IT support experience.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience : Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing similar environments.
Technical Skills :
- Extensive experience with Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Proficiency in managing cloud-based applications such as SAP, Salesforce, and Microsoft enterprise applications.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and security.
- Experience with IT automation tools and strategies.
- Leadership Skills : Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing IT teams.
- Strategic Thinking : Ability to align IT strategy with business goals and drive technology initiatives.
- Communication Skills : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Project Management : Experience in managing complex IT projects, from planning to execution.
- Certifications : Relevant IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are a plus.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work outside regular hours as needed to address critical issues.
