Cyber Security Senior Analyst Cyber Operations Management
Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Security Senior Analyst with a strong focus on project management and process improvement to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) operations and a thorough understanding of the processes involved in responding to cybersecurity incidents. This role will play a major role in enhancing our cybersecurity posture through the evolution of our Incident Handling protocols.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage cybersecurity projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or risks that may arise.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the cybersecurity team and broader organization.
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve overall security posture.
  • Conduct regular assessments of existing processes and recommend enhancements based on industry best practices.
  • Train and mentor team members on new processes and procedures

Incident Handling & Preparedness:

  • Manage and coordinate SOC operations, ensuring rapid response and effective management of cybersecurity incidents.
  • Oversee incident triage, investigation, and remediation efforts, ensuring comprehensive documentation of events.
  • Provide guidance to team members in the creation and maintenance of incident records.
  • Ensure proper documentation of after-action items and lessons learned from incidents.

Metrics and Reporting:

  • Design, create, and deliver regular cybersecurity metrics and reports to demonstrate team performance and incident trends.
  • Identify trends impacting workload and staffing requirements, refining metrics to provide actionable insights for leadership.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Ensure effective collaboration and information sharing within the cybersecurity team and with other departments.
  • Develop and maintain pathways for information sharing, including team file shares, SharePoint, and other collaboration tools.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of the teams roadmap documentation, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.

Qualifications:

General:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on SOC operations.
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Proven project management skills, with experience leading complex cybersecurity projects.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or equivalent is highly desirable.

Technical:

  • Extensive experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies used in SOC operations.
  • Strong understanding of current cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
  • Experience in documenting and tracking identified risks through to closure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, databases, and cybersecurity platforms.
