Qualifications :

Essential Skills :

- Strong analytical skills with experience in data science and data analytics methodologies

- Proven experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to manage data movement and transformation

- Solid data modeling skills with the ability to design and document data structures

- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on identifying and resolving data retention challenges

- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (IT, Legal, Compliance)

- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise communication for stakeholders

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in the IT industry, particularly data management or information governance

- Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g, GDPR, CCPA)

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Responsibilities :

- Analyze data retention requirements across the organization, considering legal, regulatory, and business needs

- Develop and implement data retention policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulations and best practices

- Design and implement data retention solutions, including data classification, storage optimization, and archiving strategies

- Utilize data modeling techniques to define data retention periods for various data sets

- Develop and automate data retention workflows using ETL tools or scripting languages (if applicable)

- Monitor and audit data retention processes to ensure adherence to established policies

- Provide ongoing training and support to business users on data retention best practices

- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and regulations in data retention
