Job Purpose

To lead and manage the end-to-end credit underwriting function for the Supply Chain Finance (SCF) vertical, ensuring robust credit assessment, policy design and portfolio health.


Roles & Responsibilities

Credit Underwriting & Approval:

  • Lead credit assessment and underwriting for supply chain finance
  • Evaluate financial and non-financial risk parameters of SMEs, dealers, distributors, vendors, and anchors.
  • Approve cases within defined authority and recommend others to the credit committee.

Policy & Process Development:

  • Collaborate with Policy, Product to develop and regularly update credit policies, scorecards, and risk frameworks tailored to supply chain finance.

Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management:

  • Proactively manage credit risk and take corrective actions to minimize NPAs.
  • Monitor portfolio health through early warning systems, delinquency trends.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with business, operations, legal, and collections teams to ensure seamless onboarding and risk containment.
  • Liaise with anchors/ channel partners to align on credit structures and due diligence.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing credit team, ensuring high standards of analysis and governance.

Qualification & experience

MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent professional degree.

10–15 years of credit experience in NBFCs/Banks, with at least 5 years in supply chain finance.

Essential skills

  • Deep understanding of anchor-based financing, channel finance, dealer/vendor funding
  • Strong grasp of financial statement analysis, cash flow-based lending, and credit structuring with the ability to negotiate financial deals.
  • Proven track record in balancing growth and risk in dynamic lending environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • High ownership, proactive problem-solver, and self-driven.


Ideal candidate (in terms of current role/ organization/ industry)

Currently in a Credit Leadership role in

  • NBFCs with a strong supply chain finance or SME lending vertical.
  • Banks managing working capital limits, trade finance, or SCF for mid-market and SME clients.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or scaling organizations with evolving product lines.
