We at VIAPROM are seeking Senior Data Scientists to join our Data Science Team and work with India s largest FMCG Organisation at our Clients Supply Chain and Distribution division in Kolkata.

This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of supply chain and distribution dynamics and the ability to independently drive data-driven decisions that enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze and optimize Distribution and Supply Chain processes using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance overall supply chain performance.

- Develop predictive models for demand forecasting, inventory management, and logistics optimization to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution of products.

- Leverage Python and SQL to manage, clean, and analyze large datasets related to supply chain and distribution, identifying trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

- Design and implement data-driven solutions for inventory optimization, warehouse management, and transportation logistics, ensuring smooth operations and minimal disruptions.

- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau or Power BI to effectively communicate Distribution and Supply Chain Insights to Client's management and stakeholders.

- Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and operations teams to align data science initiatives with business goals and drive improvements in supply chain efficiency.

- Apply statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to validate models and refine supply chain strategies, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

- Stay current with advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, applying relevant technologies to enhance Client's supply chain and distribution processes.

Skills and Qualifications :

- Education : Masters in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.

- Experience : 6-8 years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on supply chain and distribution within the FMCG sector.

- Technical Proficiency : Advanced skills in Python (including libraries like NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL, with proven experience in implementing data science solutions for supply chain management.

- Analytical Skills : Expertise in developing predictive models, performing statistical analysis, and optimizing supply chain operations.

- Independence : Ability to work independently, manage complex projects, and deliver impactful results with minimal oversight.

- Communication : Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex data insights into actionable strategies for non-technical stakeholders.

- Leadership : Experience in mentoring and leading data science projects that drive significant business impact.

- Tool Knowledge : Proficient in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g, Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
