Role Overview:

The PRT Punjabi Teacher will be responsible for teaching Punjabi language to primary school students, fostering an appreciation of Punjabi culture and literature, and ensuring the holistic development of students through engaging and effective classroom practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver interactive and age-appropriate Punjabi language lessons for primary classes.
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum framework.
  • Focus on building foundational skills in reading, writing, and speaking Punjabi.
  • Incorporate stories, poems, songs, and cultural activities to enhance learning.
  • Assess students’ progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Maintain records of students’ performance and share feedback with parents.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment promoting respect and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Participate in school events, cultural programs, and professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with Punjabi as a major subject. B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory).
  • Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience at the primary level (preferable).
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent command over Punjabi and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for teaching and ability to connect with young learners.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and digital tools.
