The primary responsibility will be achieving the program’s financial, business development, and research objectives as per assigned targets. The individual will provide thought leadership to the market on important AI trends as well as helping coordinate other Asia Pacific and global IDC research analysts. The Analyst will be IDC Asia Pacific Insights' primary research leader in areas encompassing AI strategies, Machine learning and its business and social impacts. They will have the following responsibilities:Program ManagementLeading the definition, creation and production of IDC market intelligence products and solutions for countries or domains under your responsibility.Ensuring IDC’s market intelligence meets the needs of our existing clients and identifying new opportunities for our capabilitiesMaintaining research project planning, scheduling, and tracking.Acting as the external & internal representative of IDC research for your domainEnsuring the organization produces quality research and analysis by rolling out new and insightful analytical programs, supplemented with thought leadership.Insuring program profitability, cost/benefit analysis on custom research projectsThought leadership and creation of special reportsBusiness Development and Client ManagementDeveloping senior executive relationships with our clients and key players in the industryPresenting results at senior level, or at events, as requiredProviding strong support for the sales team in qualifying and closing businessWorking with the sales team to develop strategic selling initiatives and account plansDeveloping and nurturing a strong client service mentality in the research teamActing as the client and media facing representative for the program in the regionProject management of fieldwork, subscription programs, custom researchConsulting & Custom Research:Lead on key IDC Asia Pacific Energy Insights and FoO consulting & custom research projectsIdentifying opportunities, assist in developing proposals, and assist in closing consulting salesVetting research methodologies and instrumentsCreation and delivery of special reportsFinancialAchievement of financial targets established for the group under your responsibilityMonthly and annual P&L management and reporting for each research area under your responsibility by product group and typeAnnual research budget planning, strategic growth planningNew product planning and positioningSuccess in this role will require a results-oriented, analytical individual with at least 15 years of relevant background in either market research, consulting, academia, IT journalism, or IT industry experience in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and/or data analytics. Since he/ she will also be supporting primary research with vendors and industry experts to acquire market insights in Asia Pacific, including partnering research efforts with relevant country analysts in the local IDC offices, we expect that this person will possess good communication skills, able to interact with mid- to top-level executives, and be eager to explore how AI is changing the face of business and markets in Asia Pacific. This position will work closely with IDC’s Sales and Marketing teams, management, prospects/clients, and analysts.Qualifications:Good understanding of and preferably hands on experience in one or more areas: data engineering/ management, data governance, data science, Cloud, advanced Analytics, Machine learning and AI.Minimum 15 years' experience in the area of research/technologyEffective in both verbal and writing when presenting / packaging research deliverables to the clients and publicExperience in delivery of consulting projectsExcellent English communication skills (written and verbal)This is a full time position.IDC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
