Job Description – Teradata Engineer

Responsibilities:

· Design, develop, and optimize Teradata solutions to support data warehousing and analytical needs.


· Utilize Teradata utilities such as BTEQ, Fast Load, MultiLoad, FastExport and TPT (Teradata Parallel Transporter) for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).


· Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.


· Develop complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to meet business requirements.


· Perform data validation, quality checks, and ensure data accuracy across Teradata environments.


· Optimize Teradata queries for performance and scalability.


· Monitor and troubleshoot data loads and resolve issues related to ETL processes.


· Ensure adherence to best practices and standards for data integration and management.


· Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers as needed.


Required Skills & Experience:

· 5+ years of hands-on experience with Teradata development and utilities.


· Strong proficiency in Teradata SQL and utilities (BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, FastExport, TPT, TPump).


· Experience in performance tuning and query optimization in Teradata.


· Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.


· Experience with data modeling and database design principles.


· Familiarity with shell scripting and automation tools for managing data pipelines.


· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


· Experience working with large datasets in a complex data environment.


· Proactive, Good Communication skills and should be able to handle demanding customers and stakeholders.
