Background and Context:
- Master data was carved out from different systems and harmonized for the newly separated company.
- Four different SAP ECC environments as part of companys landscape have been the source for the ERP data.
- SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) has been implemented to manage critical Master Data processes for the following objects: Vendor, Customer, Material, Profit Center, Cost Center and General Ledger
- SAP MDG has been implemented with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approach basic model with minimum customizing.
Our focus now is to maximize data effectiveness and transforming data into value and we are looking at various ways to maximise effective usage of MDG.
Objective:
- Bringing operational and cost efficiency through reducing errors, streamlining processes, and enhancing data access, leading to better data-driven decisions, and enhanced overall operational efficiency.
Key Challenges:
- (Manual) Process requiring human intervention to request new Materials, Vendors, Customers etc.
- Manual population of required field values
- Workflows not matching the data organization governance.
- Concerns about data quality for both migrated and created data pertaining to Completeness, Integrity, Validity and Consistency
- As part of the separation from Company, duplication of data in the company environment has occurred leading to challenges in transactional processing and further evolve the current Minimal Viable Product (MVP) implementation of SAP MDG company has defined the following initiatives:

- Objective - Create/Change/Enhance Improvements vs. current MVP.
- Initiate - A.01 - Description - Smart Integrated/Automated Request Forms (New Product/Material Collection Template)
- Initiate - A.02 - Automated Field Value population based on defined Business Rules
- Initiate - A.03 - Mass Creation/Change/Enhance capabilities according to Data Model logics
- Initiate - A.04 - Smart Workflows and Authorization Models
- Initiate - A.05 - Utilize ML Enhance and Improve Data Quality Management and Data Quality
- Objective - Enhance and Improve Data Quality Management and Data Quality
- Initiate - B.01 - Get insights on current common rules as a base with Data Mining and AI and utilize where relevant
- Initiate - B.02 - Configure Business Rules as key reference for Data Quality Measurements (K)PI's and check reports
- Initiate - B.03 -Manage / Define DQM Rules and define KPIs Score SAP/MDG Tool and Capabilities (Material Master, Vendor Master, Customer Master)
- Objective - Consolidation, Standard Process Development
- Initiative - C.01 - Configure and Deploy according to standard process, for external data loads and off-system data loads.
