About the Role


We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science / Data Science. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to teaching, research, and institutional service within the Department of Applied Science and Humanities at MIT School of Engineering and Sciences.


Responsibilities


Teaching and Curriculum Development:

  • Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science and Data Science.
  • Specific teaching areas include, but are not limited to: Deep Learning, Big Data Analytics, Data Handling and Visualization, and Database Management Systems (DBMS).
  • Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and teaching methodologies to align with current industry standards and academic requirements.


Research and Scholarship:

  • Establish and maintain an active research agenda, resulting in publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Mentor and guide M.Tech and B.Tech student projects, dissertations, and research activities.
  • Actively seek external funding for research and development projects.


Administration and Service:

  • Participate in departmental and institutional committees, academic advising, and administrative duties.
  • Contribute to the overall growth and development of the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities.


Qualifications


Education:

  • A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science / Data Science.
  • A Master’s degree (M.Sc. / M.Tech) in Computer Science / Data Science, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
  • SET / NET is preferable.


Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time teaching experience at the university / college level, at the Assistant Professor level, Computer Science / Data Science subjects.


Research Output:

  • A strong record of research publications and/or successful grant proposals is highly desirable.


Required Skills

  • Deep and comprehensive knowledge of the theoretical and practical foundations of Computer Science / Data Science.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse student body.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and institutional service.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with online teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.


Pay range and compensation package

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
