The Project Advisor is responsible for the full implementation of assigned projects, ensuring that funding recipients and project partners meet their obligations and deliverables in alignment with organizational goals. This role provides oversight, monitors progress, tracks milestones, addresses challenges, and ensures the successful completion of projects. The Project Advisor also plays a critical role in preparing Steering Committee (SteerCo) materials and producing comprehensive project reports to support decision-making and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight and Implementation: Manage and oversee the implementation of assigned projects, working closely with funding recipients and project partners to ensure compliance with agreed timelines, budgets, and safety and quality standards.
  • Milestone Tracking and Monitoring: Track project milestones against agreed timelines and deliverables. Ensure clear visibility into milestone progress, identifying delays or risks early and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Performance Monitoring and Support: Continuously monitor project performance in collaboration with the Program and Project Support function. Conducts project status updates to get on-site updates and address challenges and risks to ensure projects remain on track. Provide guidance and support to funding recipients and project partners to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, facilitating clear communication and collaboration between funding recipients, project partners, and internal teams.
  • SteerCo Preparation: Prepare and coordinate project-related materials for Steering Committee (SteerCo) meetings, including milestone updates, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations. Ensure SteerCo presentations are concise, accurate, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Develop comprehensive project reports, including updates on milestone progress, risks, budgets, and key outcomes. Ensure timely submission of reports to the Senior Advisor and other relevant stakeholders.


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, sustainability, project management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in project or program management, ideally within waste management, circular economy, sustainability, infrastructure, or impact-driven programs.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects involving external partners, funding recipients, and internal teams.
  • Strong expertise in project oversight, milestone tracking, budget management, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with India’s waste management ecosystem, including municipalities, recyclers, or value-chain partners, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
