Job Description :


Roles and Responsibilities :

- Candidate should have 12+ years of real-time project experience managing a team of at least 10 developers.

- Should work with the Engineering Leadership team and promote the development of clean and well- crafted code.

- Should manage 2 or more Scrum teams.

- Should work and collaborate directly with Client Solution Architects and contribute in decision making

- Should coach and mentor the Technical Leads and other developers in the team.

- Identifies and promotes productivity improvement through tools and process changes.

- Responsible for the team's overall delivery quality and commitment

- Good in communication and conduct status reporting with the Client leadership

Required Skillset :

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Technical Skills :


Must Have :

- Backend : Java8, Spring Boot, RESTful Services, Messaging system integrations, Mockito for unit testing

- Frontend : ReactJS or Angular

- Database : MySQL or any relational database

- Cloud : AWS or any cloud

Technical Skills :


Nice To Have :

- MongoDB or other SQL databases, PHP, Event Handling

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Team Management :

- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.

- Guide career development and support engineers in achieving their professional goals.

- Drive team motivation and maintain high engagement levels.

Project Planning & Execution :

- Plan, prioritize, and coordinate engineering projects from inception to completion.

- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with business goals.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Operations) to define and refine project requirements.

- Manage resource allocation, balancing the needs of multiple projects simultaneously.

Technical Leadership :

- Provide technical guidance and direction to the team, ensuring high standards in design, coding, testing, and performance.

- Oversee the architecture, design, and technical roadmap, making strategic decisions to ensure scalability and maintainability.

- Troubleshoot and resolve high-level technical issues as needed.

Process Improvement :

- Implement and continuously improve development processes (e.g., Agile, Scrum, or Kanban).

- Establish engineering best practices, code reviews, and ensure consistent quality across the development lifecycle.

- Monitor and optimize performance metrics, such as team velocity, code quality, and product performance.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable business terms.

- Work closely with Product Management to ensure that engineering output aligns with business priorities and customer needs.

- Keep leadership informed on progress, roadblocks, and project timelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in a management role.

- Strong technical background in software development (specific tech stack based on the company).

- Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience working in a startup or scaling company environment.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.

- Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, and retaining engineering talent.

- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
