Responsibilities:

Microsoft SQL DBA : Mandatory

  • Manage and configure Microsoft SQL Server (2014 - 2019) environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Implement best practices for database configuration, maintenance, and security.

SQL Backups and Job Management: Mandatory

  • Design and maintain SQL backup strategies to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery.
  • Manage SQL Agent jobs for automated maintenance tasks and data loading processes.

Performance Management: Mandatory

  • Utilize tools such as profiler, extended events, and query store for performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Identify and address performance issues to improve database efficiency and responsiveness.

Blocking Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Mandatory

  • Monitor and troubleshoot blocking issues to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Optimize database configurations to minimize blocking and improve concurrency.

Capacity Planning and SQL Security: Mandatory

  • Perform capacity planning to anticipate future resource requirements and ensure scalability.
  • Implement and manage SQL security measures, including local, Active Directory, and domain trusts.

SOX Compliance (Desirable): Preferred

  • Experience with SOX compliance requirements and auditing procedures is a significant plus.

Server Migration and Azure Experience: Preferred

  • Experience with server migration, log shipping, Change Data Capture (CDC), and Azure services such as Azure VM or Azure Data Factory is advantageous

Source Control Administration and PowerShell: Preferred

  • Administer source control systems for database scripts and configurations.
  • Utilize PowerShell for automation and scripting tasks related to database administration.

Microsoft Power Platform Experience (Desirable): Preferred

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform components such as Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Azure storage is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server management, backups, performance tuning, and security.
  • Experience with SSIS and SSRS administration.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • SOX compliance experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with server migration, Azure, source control, and PowerShell scripting is advantageous.
