Job details

A "Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Automation & Security" would likely be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and automated infrastructure solutions. This role would involve a combination of technical expertise in infrastructure engineering, automation tools, and security best practices. The engineer would likely work with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of client IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

Designing and implementing robust and scalable infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements, including network, server, storage, and cloud components.

  • Automation and Scripting:

Utilizing scripting languages like Python or PowerShell, and automation platforms (e.g., Automation Anywhere, UiPath) to automate repetitive tasks, streamline processes, and improve infrastructure management.

  • Security Implementation:

Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect infrastructure from threats, including access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security monitoring.

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

Monitoring infrastructure performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to optimize performance and resource utilization.

  • Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

Responding to security incidents and infrastructure-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

Working with other IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.

Required Skills and Experience:

Strong technical background:

  • Experience in infrastructure engineering, including networking, server administration, cloud computing (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), and security.

Proficiency in automation tools and scripting:

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation platforms (e.g., Automation Anywhere, UiPath).

Solid understanding of security principles:

  • Knowledge of security best practices, including access control, encryption, and vulnerability management.

Experience with DevOps practices:

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management tools, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Problem-solving and analytical skills:

  • Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.

Industry certifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CISSP, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications) are often preferred.
