Clinical Instructor

1. Scope of Service: Continuing Nursing Education
2. Professional & Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors in Nursing / Preferably Masters in Nursing
• Valid State Registration in India if not from Maharashtra Nursing Council

3.Desirable Certification:

• Preferred Certification in Critical Care Nursing / Nursing Administration
• Valid certification in Basic & Advanced Life Support / Basic Trauma Life Support
• Evidence of participation in various programs & update & maintain current professional knowledge & clinical skills.

4.Professional Experience:

• M.Sc. Nursing – Minimum 1 years of teaching experience.
• B.Sc. Nursing – Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
• Should be well versed in written & verbal languages – English, Hindi & Marathi.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft office – word, excel, power point & email communication.

6.Core Job Responsibilities

• To enhance knowledge, critical thinking, skills & competence of nurses who provide care on the clinical units.
• To develop, implement & evaluate clinical based education to meet the competency & learning needs of all levels of nurses.
• To enhance patient safety, risk management & patient care within the clinical unit in collaboration with Sister in Charges & other stakeholders
• To assist in organising workshops, Seminars & Conferences along with the Nurse Educator
• To maintain documents pertaining to training imparted & competencies developed amongst nurses; which shall help in privileging the nurses.

7.Specific Core Skills

• Facilitate in the induction programme & ensure all staff of the unit has undergone induction.
• Conduct test & certify nurses in induction on basic skills.
• Assess & identify any learning need of staff in his / her area and then plan to organize and execute retraining for them.
• Assist nursing educator in making protocols, Training calendar, care plans & audit checklist
• Conducts monthly audits as per standards
• To give incidental teachings on rounds & demonstrate skills whenever appropriate.
• To conduct mock code drills – Code Blue, Code Pink, Code Red, Code Violet, Code black, Code grey etc.
• To keep a record of in-service attendance of staff and motivate those with less attendance.
• To assist nursing educator in conducting practical exams for trainees.
