Our architectural practice, ANA Design, has been based in New Delhi, India for nearly three decades. We recently registered our architectural consultancy and project management services in the UAE.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY

1. General Responsibilities

 Prepare, update, and maintain BIM models and detailed CAD drawings for PHE and fire-fighting

systems in coordination with design engineers.

 Ensure that all drawings and models comply with project standards, specifications, and BIM

execution plans (BEP).

 Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure smooth

integration.

 Maintain document control by following proper naming conventions, revision control, and file

organization.

 Support the design team during concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction

documentation phases.

2. BIM Modeling Responsibilities

 Develop 3D BIM models of plumbing, drainage, stormwater, and fire protection systems using

software such as Revit, Navisworks, or Civil 3D.

 Create and manage BIM families, parameters, and templates specific to PHE and fire-fighting

components.

 Conduct clash detection and coordinate model revisions with other disciplines.

 Extract 2D drawings, sections, and schedules directly from BIM models.

 Ensure models are aligned with the project coordinate system and LOD (Level of Detail/

Development) requirements.

 Collaborate in BIM coordination meetings and assist in resolving modeling issues

3. PHE System Responsibilities

 Prepare detailed layout drawings for:

o Water supply systems (domestic, flushing, irrigation, and drinking water).

o Drainage and waste systems (soil, waste, vent, and storm drainage).

o Sump, water tank, and pump room layouts.

o Water balance and schematic diagrams.

 Incorporate correct pipe sizes, slopes, and fittings as per design and local authority standards.

 Coordinate routing with structural and architectural constraints.

4. Fire Fighting System Responsibilities

 Prepare 3D models and detailed drawings for:

o Fire sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, and fire pump systems.

o Fire riser diagrams, zoning, and control valve layouts.

 Ensure system layout complies with NFPA, NBC, UAE Fire Code, or local authority regulations.

 Coordinate fire-fighting services with other MEP services and structural elements to avoid conflicts.

 Generate schedules for pipe fittings, valves, sprinklers, and accessories.

5. Coordination & Quality

 Attend coordination meetings and update models/drawings as per design changes.

 Conduct clash detection reviews with the BIM coordinator or BIM lead.

 Ensure quality and accuracy of drawings before submission.

 Maintain as-built models and drawings after construction stage updates.

 Support site teams by providing coordinated shop drawings when required.

6. Software Skills (Preferred)

 Autodesk Revit MEP (Mandatory)

 AutoCAD

 Navisworks Manage / BIM 360 / ACC Docs

 Civil 3D (for external drainage layouts)

 Microsoft Excel (for quantity extraction and schedules)

7. Reporting & Documentation

 Report progress and issues to the BIM Coordinator / Senior Engineer.

 Maintain model and drawing version logs.

 Support preparation of quantity take-offs (QTO) and BOQ extraction from BIM models.

 Participate in regular QA/QC checks to ensure drawings meet company and project standards.

8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

 Accuracy and compliance of drawings to design intent and codes.

 Timely delivery of coordinated BIM models and drawings.

 Reduction of coordination clashes through effective modeling.

 Quality of documentation and adherence to BIM protocols.

WORK EXPERIENCE/ TRAITS

 5+ year of experience with Auto CAD and at least two years using the intelligent features within the

CAD programs. Familiarity with Autodesk Revit MEP 2021 or higher.

 Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic environment with rapidly changes

ACADEMIC / TRADE QUALIFICATIONS

 ITI or Diploma in Civil / Mechanical discipline

 Associates degree in drafting or Equivalent training & experience
