Role Description

We are seeking a Senior AI governance and Security Specialist to help build the foundations that make enterprise AI programs secure, compliant, and self-reliant. This individual will lead efforts to operationalize AI governance readiness - establishing the right data, privacy, and compliance structures to enable safe, scalable use of AI across the organization. The role focuses on defining and embedding governance processes, data quality standards, and access controls aligned with global data privacy and ethical AI guidelines.

Success will come through building repeatable frameworks, credible documentation, and close partnership with InfoSec, Legal, and Data Governance teams to ensure AI initiatives are developed responsibly and built on a strong data foundation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build AI Governance Foundations: Define and implement processes that ensure data security, compliance, and ethical use of AI across enterprise systems.
• Establish Governance Standards: Develop documentation, controls, and monitoring frameworks for data access, storage, quality, and usage - enabling safe and compliant AI adoption.
• Risk & Compliance Alignment: Partner with InfoSec, Legal, and Privacy teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable policies and technical guardrails.
• Operationalize Responsible AI Practices: Support readiness for emerging GenAI use cases by establishing review checkpoints, documentation templates, and audit mechanisms.
• Enable Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Data Engineering, Product, and Analytics teams to integrate governance standards into workflows and projects.
• Monitor and Improve: Track governance maturity metrics and continuously enhance data quality, compliance posture, and readiness for AI deployment.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data governance, information security, or AI compliance within enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of AI and data ecosystems (Azure, Databricks, Gemini, or equivalent).
• Proven experience developing governance frameworks or compliance programs in partnership with Legal, InfoSec, and Data Privacy teams.
• Familiarity with global privacy and AI regulatory standards (GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical risk and compliance concepts for diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Information Security (CISSP, CISM) or Data Governance (CDMP, DGSP).
• Experience supporting or preparing for Responsible AI or model risk management frameworks.
• Background in data privacy, ethics, or compliance program implementation.
